In a shocking and deeply disturbing incident that has sent ripples of fear across Mumbai's vast local train network, a man was allegedly stabbed to death inside a moving local train on Tuesday night following a heated argument over closing the compartment door during heavy rainfall. What Happened Inside the Train

The victim, identified as Mayank Lohar, was travelling in the first-class compartment of a Churchgate-Nallasopara fast local when the incident unfolded. Somewhere between Goregaon and Kandivali stations, an argument broke out between Lohar and another passenger — identified as Roshan Suvarna — over whether the coach door should be kept open or closed amid the pouring rain outside.

What began as a verbal dispute quickly turned physical. According to the Western Railway Police, the situation escalated to the point where some passengers present in the compartment began assaulting the accused. Enraged by the assault, Suvarna allegedly reached into his bag, pulled out a knife, and launched a fatal attack on Lohar. The victim died on the spot before any help could reach him.

Disturbing Video Goes Viral

A deeply unsettling video from inside the train compartment has been widely circulated on social media, showing the accused dressed entirely in black, holding a knife, and walking away from the victim with his shirt unbuttoned. Bloodstains could be seen streaked across the metal seats, and Lohar is visible lying on the floor of the train in a pool of blood.

Panicked passengers are heard in the video saying, "Ye mar diya usko, mar diya" — meaning "He killed him, he actually killed him." The footage also shows fellow passengers rapidly dispersing from the area, with nobody attempting to stop or confront the accused. Suvarna is seen pausing to look back at the man lying on the floor before moving away.

The video has sparked widespread anger online, with many questioning why no one intervened and raising serious concerns about the safety of commuters on Mumbai's local train network.

Police Response and Investigation

Senior Police Inspector Datta Khuprekar of the Borivali Railway Police confirmed the sequence of events, stating that the accused stabbed the victim with a knife during the dispute over the open door and subsequently fled the scene. The Railway Police arrived at the scene shortly after, took possession of the body, and sent it for a post-mortem examination.

In the aftermath of the incident, authorities have formed seven dedicated police teams to track down Roshan Suvarna, who has been positively identified but remains at large. A manhunt is currently underway and the police are leaving no stone unturned to ensure a swift arrest.
