The Bharatiya Janata Party has slammed the opposition Indian National Development Inclusive Alliance (India) over former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav’s remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s family and religious beliefs. He left his relatives to serve the nation and now considers the entire country as his family
Yadav on Sunday said that Modi is not a Hindu because Hindus shave their heads after the death of their relatives, but the prime minister did not when his mother died. Addressing an Indian rally in Patna, he referred to Modi’s statements on dynastic politics and said the prime minister does not have a family of his own.
Making low-level, personal and insulting statements is fueled by jealousy, hatred, guilt, defeat and inferiority complexes,” BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi said. He added that they have no role model in Indian politics
In response, BJP workers and leaders added “Modi ka Parivar (Modi’s family)” on their social media profiles.
Trivedi also said that Modi left his family to serve the nation. He added that Modi now considers the entire country as his family. “We all celebrate Holi and Diwali with family. After becoming the Prime Minister in 2014, Modi spent his first Diwali with soldiers at the border. “He celebrated Diwali at some borders with the security forces from then till now,” he said.
